I cannot sleep.
Thinking about the past 13 years as a student makes me sad. The bad times, the good….well look where I’ve come. I am so proud to be who I am right now. So proud of my parents and friends and family and classmates. We got through it, but now that we are less than 24 hours through it, does it have to end now?
I feel so emotional about leaving this beloved place, a comforting, welcoming and challenging town, which nourished me in all the best ways. I am moving off to the most intimidating place, where I will start fresh, no one will know me as Fahey, the photographer, the girl who has a “contagious smile” or the caring, compassionate girl, they will see me, but not know me like the town of Wellesley does.
I guess thats why elementary/middle school/high school years in public school are so special. The chance of growing up with a group of kids, seeing how we transform into an adult and once we almost do we bid out farewells…it is purely genius, but bittersweet.
So farewell Wellesley High School, youve treated me beyond well. I am proud. I succeeded.
